Ok so lots of people have no clue what a Lightworker is. This is my quest to explain it to you without going into too much detail because that is a lecture in itself. Hopefully this will answer your question adequately.
What is a Lightworker?
The term “Lightworker” has been around for a long time. There are so many individual opinions and/or definitions of what a Lightworker is.
The definition from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, is as follows:
“A lightworker is a person who feels inspired to help others through spiritual meditation, teaching, healing, prayer, writing and speaking through unconditional love.”
A simpler definition would be: One who is driven and motivated to do work that they believe makes the world a better place, improves peoples’ lives, and/or elevates people to a higher level of consciousness (awareness).
When we talk about “light”, we are talking about a form of consciousness or energy that connects everything in the universe. This includes every one of us. As you may or may not believe, we are all connected. The energy can be felt with your whole being by attuning to unconditional love. When you feel this energy it radiates, affecting those around you positively. This is called Light Work!
So basically, a “Lightworker” would be anyone who in their heart is compelled and committed to helping others grow in love. We are ALL spiritual beings but Lightworkers are spiritual beings who incarnated for the purpose of spreading love and light. This is not a conscious thing as a mortal so certain things and situations throughout one’s life will act as a catalyst for their own awakening and remembrance of what it is they came to earth to do. Lightworkers radiate an amazing presence through their being. They exude love, joy, happiness and positivity. Spontaneous inspiration, high energy and exhilaration comes to all they come in contact with. Because of this innate ability, they are therefore a catalyst, a teacher, a mentor for others growth. While Lightworkers are awakening to their own development they are influencing others without even being aware or consciously trying. Lightworkers are not any better than any other of the universes spiritual beings; they are just the leaders of the pack paving the way for the next generation.
Lightworkers generally are highly sensitive and intuitive. They are typically involved or interested in healing arts like Reikki, Energetic healing, Spiritual healing, Shamanism just to name a few. They are also drawn to other creative pursuits such as humanitarian or spiritual work. Probably the most common form of Lightwork would be a person who chooses to “shine their light.” The premise behind the concept of “shining your light” is that our world and society are improved by people being kind, compassionate, loving, and considerate to each other. It is choosing to use actions, thoughts and words to create situations that show others they are appreciated, cared for, and loved. A person who chooses to use the label Lightworker, often indicates a person who sees being loving and compassionate to others as a spiritual path – a path to connecting with the divine. A Lightworkers mission is to walk upon the face of the planet lightly, as the beacon type warriors of our time, and to shine unconditional love, happiness, and peace into the world. They witness to calm the inner turmoil, to just be, and be happy with who you are: to love life and to love all that is, that power some call God.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to see if you are a Lightworker:
Do you feel a sense of time urgency within you?
Do you feel drawn to help humanity?
Do you feel drawn to spirituality?
Do you get a persistent ringing sound in your ear?
Have you been told by others that you are too sensitive?
Do you feel different from other?
Do you believe that spiritual methods can heal any situation?
Do you know that you are here for a higher purpose?
If you answered yes to these questions or resonate with the definitions mentioned of a Lightworker, the chance that you are a Lightworker is pretty Great! Only you can truly answer this question yourself.
As an emerging Lightworker you may feel scared of being different or being judged, misunderstood or even criticized by societal pressures and beliefs. It is vital that you learn to accept and believe in yourself for your own health and well being. You can start empowering yourself with these few tips:
First and foremost you must recognize and lovingly accept yourself as a Lightworker and learn about what it means to be one. The internet is a great source of information.
Embrace being unique and different in your own special way. We were not born to be heard followers.
Release and forgive all past negativity as those occurred to assist you in your own healing
Surround yourself with like minded individuals whether it be through physical or online groups
Find a mentor you resonate with and search out different creative tools and exercises to help spark your soul purpose.
